Who Are We?

Talk of the Town DuPage is a creation of Talk Media Group, Inc. Our team consists of a group of marketing professionals who live, work and play in DuPage County.  As a group we have over 100 years of local store marketing experience. 
 

Why Did We Create It?

Talk of the Town DuPage was created because searching for simple information about activities and events going on in DuPage County is difficult.  
 

What's Wrong With Most Sites?

Number 1,Incomplete.  Other sites rely on visitor added content.  It creates sites that have a large volumes of information but not for every city and not very relevant.

 Number 2,Difficult to navigate.  So many sites try to offer so much information they forget to organize it with the end user in mind.  

Number 3,Clutter.  When anyone and everyone can add information under any area of a site you end up with long laundry lists of classified ads.  You get lost in the clutter and users get frustrated when everything blends together. 

Number 4,No connection to community.  Most of these sites are created by groups or individuals not only outside of your community but outside of your state.  They have no connection to your community and no idea what is important to the users. 

Finally, Too many sites all trying to do the same thing and all of them having the same problem.  You are left with a frustrating mess going from web site to web site.
 

What Makes Us Different?

Since we have people who live in DuPage, our ability to stay on top of current events and things to do is far greater.  We also care about the timeliness, accuracy and completeness of the information we provide.  We do not rely on volunteers to provide us with information.  We hire people who perform research over the internet, and by speaking directly to community leaders.  This approach insures a complete picture of what is going on in your community.

Our site has a simple straight forward design.  It is simple to navigate and find information.  We don't try to provide every last bit of information, and because we control the content we can assure a clean clutter free site.  This does not mean we don't want to hear from people in the community.  We have developed relationships with community leaders as part of our research process insuring information.
